Tuberculosis (TB) Precautions
Mycobacterium tuberculosis is an airborne pathogen requiring strict isolation to prevent transmission to healthcare workers and other patients.
Airborne Precautions
- Place patient in a Negative Pressure Isolation Room.
- Staff must wear N95 or PAPR respirators.
- Patient must wear a surgical mask during transport.
- Maintain at least 6-12 air exchanges per hour.
