Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus is a bacterium resistant to many common antibiotics, requiring specific isolation protocols.
Clinical Management
- Patients must be placed on contact precautions.
- Ensure dedicated equipment for the patient room.
- Assess for signs of worsening infection (fever, purulence).
- Educate patient on skin hygiene to prevent transmission.
