ANOVA (Analysis of Variance)

ANOVA is used to compare the means of three or more independent groups to determine if at least one group mean is statistically different.

Clinical Usage

  • Comparing treatment efficacy across multiple intervention groups.
  • Assessing baseline health metrics across different age cohorts.
  • Identifying significant differences in outcomes across clinical units.

Limitations

  • Indicates a difference exists but does not specify which group differs.
  • Requires post-hoc tests to identify specific group differences.
