Correlation Analysis

Correlation measures the strength and direction of the relationship between two variables, ranging from -1.0 to +1.0.
Interpreting Coefficients
- Positive Correlation: Both variables increase together.
- Negative Correlation: As one variable increases, the other decreases.
- Zero Correlation: No linear relationship between variables.
Clinical Application
- Pearson r: Used for normally distributed, continuous data.
- Spearman rho: Used for non-parametric or ordinal data.
- Correlation vs Causation: Correlation does not prove one variable causes the other.
