Symptomatic Bradycardia
A heart rate less than 60 beats per minute associated with compromised hemodynamic stability.
Symptoms of Instability
- Hypotension and altered mental status
- Chest pain or shortness of breath
- Signs of shock like mottled skin
Nursing Interventions
- Maintain airway and administer oxygen
- Establish IV access
- Prepare for Transcutaneous Pacing (TCP) if atropine fails
Pharmacology
- Administer Atropine 1mg IV push
- Repeat Atropine every 3-5 minutes as needed
- Avoid excessive dose to prevent tachycardia
