Process
- Identify the amount of drug powder (reconstitution).
- Consult the drug label or package insert for the specific amount of sterile water or saline required.
- Account for the displacement volume if necessary.
Labeling
- Clearly label all reconstituted vials with date, time, concentration, and initials.
- Note expiration date and storage requirements (e.g., refrigeration).
- Ensure the final concentration is written in large, legible letters.
