Vaccination Principles
Vaccinations stimulate the immune system to produce antibodies without causing the disease, providing active artificial immunity.
Types of Immunity
- Active Immunity: Body produces its own antibodies (vaccines or infection).
- Passive Immunity: Temporary protection through pre-formed antibodies (e.g., immunoglobulin or breast milk).
- Herd Immunity: Sufficient population immunity to stop disease spread.
