Standard Error vs Standard Deviation

Differentiating between these two measures is critical for understanding data precision and population estimates.
Standard Deviation
- Measures the variability within a single sample.
- Describes how spread out the individual data points are from the mean.
Standard Error of the Mean
- Measures the precision of the sample mean estimate.
- Describes how far the sample mean is likely to be from the true population mean.
- Decreases as sample size increases.
